A documentary chronicling the impact of Canterbury's devastating earthquakes on the lives of its citizens. Focusing on the reactions of Cantabrians without narration, When A City Falls offers a new and grass roots understanding of what happened to half a million New Zealanders the year their lives changed forever.

Intimately shot, this film goes beyond reactive television to reveal the raw essence of the human spirit. The film also plays tribute to the beautiful nature landscapes of the Canterbury Plains and looks forward to what the future might hold for NZ's second largest city.

Well shot and put-together documentary, although very sad.
Being a Christchurch resident and experiencing both September and February earthquakes, I can say that this film definitely hits home hard and takes you straight back to those tragic events which affected the city.
I think it's important for all New Zealanders to watch this film and anyone who would like to experience what is was like for the residents of Christchurch during that time.

It was very interesting to revist what we all lived through here in Chch. Helped my mom to understand what we had been through. Tastefully done. Thank you

A real and true account of the ways people have been after the Christchurch quakes. I am very impressed with the tone of the film. My daughter and I both enjoyed it.

A very affecting documentary. This is feature length so provides lots of stories from the people caught up in Chch's earthquakes. The photography is amazing. The song at the end by Ariana Tikao is hauntingly beautiful. A must for all NZers to view.

Nearly too long, but it's I just had to be with whatever, or however the documentary and the associated stories from individuals unfolded. Yes a definite watch for all NZers and then anyone around the world in earthquake zones. I hope the documentary is being promoted this way
