Martin Clément, born Marvin Bijou, escapes from his small village in the Vosges Mountains, leaving behind the intolerance and rejection he suffers from his peers and his family. It is his high school teacher who offers him a way out when discovering his talent for theatre. Moving to Paris, he finds solace in the performing arts where he is able to freely explore his personal identity. Soon Martin is willing to risk everything to craft a stage show that represents so much more than success: it's his path to reinvention.

This gripping coming-of-age story by Anne Fontaine (The Innocents, 2016) is a powerful call for artistic expression and voicing of one’s own identities.
